MotoeXotica is pleased to announce another cult classic, a 1974 BMW 2002tii. This particular 02 is an excellent driver as it is or could be the perfect restoration candidate for a buyer. The market for these cars has started to move upward drastically in just the last year so this is a fleeting opportunity to obtain a relatively un-touched version before they get out of reach. This vehicle is an excellent driver or candidate for restoration because of its lengthy service and repair history; a tribute to how well it runs. Cosmetically, however, it needs some attention.

A Dr. Harrison from West Newton, Massachusetts bought this car on September 8, 1977 for $4,600 from Cooperandrsquo;s Little Cars in Peabody, Massachusetts. The car had 17,455 miles on its odometer at the time of purchase and Dr. Harrison left Cooperandrsquo;s with a 36-month loan and monthly payments of $142.72. He drove this car approximately 103,000 miles and had the following service work performed on this car:

In March 2007, cleaned front brakes, replaced rear wheel cylinders, bled the brake system and replaced the hazard switch. In August 2014, replaced the gas tank, gas line, fuel filter and injection seals, changed oil and filter (no mileage recorded) and a state inspection. In September 2015, installed four new General Altimax RT 43 radial tires.

This 2002 wears a distinctive Polaris Silver exterior. The paint is in fair shape but there are multiple blemishes on the forward-hinged clamshell hood and on the lower rear fenders but the engine bay is clean. Car comes with two Hella fog lights mounted under the front bumper; both lenses are clear and intact, as are the rest of the vehicleandrsquo;s lights and reflectors, including the upgraded-to-halogen headlamps. The carandrsquo;s body panels and trim have some slight blemishes but the bumpers are in good shape. In the trunk are four additional steel wheels and some assorted extra parts. It sports BMW standard alloy wheels with center caps riding within P195/60R14 General Altimax RT radial tires. The wheels are in fair condition, with some spots showing wear but the tires have plenty of tread.

Open the driverandrsquo;s door and youandrsquo;re greeted by the Marine Blue upholstery and black carpeting. Driverandrsquo;s seat back wonandrsquo;t lock and it shows some blemishes but the seats overall are in great shape and show minimal wear. Back seat has no padding but package shelf behind the rear seat is in good shape. The contrasting light-colored headliner is in fair condition with some water stains evident at the sunroof, which opens by hand. Shift boot is ripped but carandrsquo;s dashboard is intact and in good shape for its age. All windows and mirrors are clear and intact. The original pedals are worn but the original VDO gauges are present and the car has a Momo three-spoke performance steering wheel with center hub logo and matching shifter knob. Car currently has no stereo and an amplifier under the rear seat that may or may not function but its next owner could easily pop a new head unit in the dash as there are already speakers in each door, two 6andtimes;9 FAS speakers in the rear package shelf and an equalizer in the glovebox.

Extras include a working Whistler Q1000R radar detector
