Details: Everyone has their favorite muscle carand#44; but quite honestlyand#44; few could match the Buick GSs muscle. With a towering 510 pounds of torqueand#44; it was arguably the fastest machine on the streets. This stunning 1970 GS455 is a great example that has a tough look to match all of that brutal horsepowerand#44; and its been beautifully restored to look right.

To answer your first questionand#44; yesand#44; this is a real GS. Finished in code 14 Silver Mistand#44; its one of the less common GS colors and truly emphasizes what a special car the Grand Sport really was. Dressed for successand#44; the big Buick was upscale instead of a street brawlerand#44; and brought serious class to a segment that seemed to only care about horsepower. The restoration brought this one to a very high leveland#44; with a great gloss on the surface and straightand#44; clean sheetmetal underneath. There are a few signs of useand#44; but for a car that can generate speed as easily as this one doesand#44; theyre surprisingly minorand#44; and we love the way the silver look without a vinyl topand#44; which was a familiar sight on Buicks that year. Those unique GS grilles are superband#44; the red-accented rocker panel trim is brightand#44; and the twin-snorkel hood adds to the racy vibe. Chrome bumpers were part of the Buick imageand#44; and they shine up beautifullyand#44; adding a bit of elegance to the otherwise high-performance coupe. The sucker looks fast just sitting still.

Buicks big advantageand#44; aside from massive torqueand#44; was its luxury background. No longer did you have to suffer in discomfort to own the fastest car in townand#44; and the attractive black bench seat interior invites you to drive. In truthand#44; its low-keyand#44; which is perfect for a Buickand#44; and once youre thereand#44; youll find nicely refinished gaugesand#44; a trio of auxiliary dials under the dashand#44; and accurate components throughout the interiorand#44; including the door panels and headliner. Theres an AM ratio thats period-correct and blends right in and as a Buickand#44; factory A/C was part of the packageand#44; although this system needs to be serviced. Other luxury features include a tilt steering columnand#44; remote side mirrorand#44; and its quite possible that the back seat is originaland#44; so you know that this was always a nice car. The trunk is solid an clean with painted floor pans that leave problems no place to hide.

The GSs claim to fame was the massive 455 cubic inch V8 under the hood. This one has been rebuilt to stock specsand#44; so the most potent engine in 1970 is every bit as much fun to drive today. Unlike a lot of its peersand#44; it hasnt been upgraded with aftermarket partsand#44; and still carries its OEM intake manifoldand#44; carburetorand#44; headsand#44; and exhaust manifolds. Nicely detailed with Dante Red paint on the valve coversand#44; a correct twin-snorkel air cleanerand#44; and accurate finishes throughoutand#44; it looks quite fresh and runs great. Its backed by a stout TH400 3-speed automatic transmission that has also been rebuilt at some pointand#44; and theres a fresh Magnaflow exhaust that sounds fantastic. Theyve also added a rear sway bar to tighten up the handling a bit and the brakes have been recently serviced with a new master cylinder and power booster. Gorgeous Buick Road Wheels have been painted black and carry 225/70/14 BFGoodrich T/A radials that fill the fenders perfectly.

Gorgeousand#44; fastand#44; and very nicely finishedand#44; this icy silver GS is what all muscle cars want to be when they grow up. Call today!
