Details: This brutal 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS396 was built for just one thingand#44; and it sure wasnt getting groceries. It brings a stout believed-to-be matching-numbers big blockand#44; fantastic color combinationand#44; and a strong-arm attitude to the tableand#44; and as a result its pretty hard to resist.

You just cant go wrong with Lemans Blueand#44; as they did on this slick Chevelle. Cleanand#44; brightand#44; elegant yet sportingand#44; and just a great paint job that lets the quality do the talking. Despite being done several years agoand#44; its still nice enough to see your reflection without distortionsand#44; and on a car like thisand#44; theres just no place for bad bodywork to hide; you either get it right or you start all over. The stock hood is a welcome relief from all the cowl-induction units you usually see and it helps this car keep a somewhat low profile on the street. It also carries correct SS gearand#44; including the blacked-out grille and badge on the rear valenceand#44; and you just know guys are going to spot the 396 emblems and know somethings upand#44; but thats OKand#44; this car doesnt have to worry about much on the street. Its also got correct white stripes running along the flanksand#44; and theyre well doneand#44; too. The chrome is brightly polished and has the right shine for a car approaching its 45th birthday and the vivid red taillight lenses seem even brighter on a blue car like this.

Youd expect a basic black bucket seat interior in this sinister SSand#44; but they went one better by going with Parchment. Its a little (OKand#44; a lot) flashier than blackand#44; but they appear to be either an older restoration or even entirely originaland#44; and that speaks volumes about the care this car has received over the years. The original gauges are in excellent shape and include the optional tachometer and auxiliary gauges built into the dashand#44; and the pad up top is in excellent shape. An AM/FM/cassette radio with digital tuning slots neatly into the original radios location and uses period-looking knobs to complete the illusion. It also has factory A/Cand#44; which remains fully functionaland#44; as well as a center console with the famous horseshoe shifter. The trunk is bareand#44; so you know its in good shape and hasnt lived in a rust belt state.

The 396 cubic inch V8 big block under the hood is believed to be original to the car with the correct date codes and JE suffix code meaning 396/350HP. It has been rebuilt and fitted with a Holley Avenger electronic fuel injection system that really adds a punch when you nail the throttle. Thanks to that EFIand#44; it starts instantly and idles well even when coldand#44; and the smooth flow of power is rather impressive. A few splashes of chrome like the valve coversand#44; air filterand#44; and water pump neck give you something to look at whenever you pop the hoodand#44; and you can tell they spent extra time to get everything arranged just so to look its bestand#44; although you could detail it and take it up a notch or two. Underneathand#44; its very clean and originaland#44; with a slick-shifting TH400 3-speed automatic transmission driving a 12-bolt rearand#44; a fresh gas tankand#44; and recent shocks all around. The exhaust system features Flowmaster mufflers for a great soundand#44; and it rolls on classic SS wheels with 225/70/14 white-letter radials.

Great Chevelles always combine performance and looks in one easy-to-love packageand#44; and this matching-numbers SS396 is proof. Call today!
