Details: 1968 Lotus 47GT

Offering an absolute top flight example of the venerable Lotus 47, a bonafide period giant killer in the greatest Lotus tradition. Directly developed by Lotus Components Ltd. from the 46 Europa production car, the 47 was a pure competition car built for homologation in Group 4 as a Competition Sports Car competing at events throughout Europe in the late 60s including Le Mans 24 and the BOAC 6 hours at Brands Hatch.

Provenance:
Lotus 47/GT/76F manufactured by Lotus Components Ltd. and delivered to Paul Kerridge in April 1968. GT/76 had an outstanding and unusual race history, driven by Paul Kerridge in the late 1960s and early 1970s both in the U.K. and later in Germany, Holland and Sweden. Mentioned in many articles both in Autosport and Motoring News in 1968, 69 and 70 and was a winner in Autocross and Rallycross Championships receiving coverage and congratulations from Lotus Cars. Fully documented by photographs and film, The history file has been throughly researched and will take a week to fully digest!. The Log book is present and the car retains its original registration mark KEB 298F. New FIA HTPandrsquo;s were issued in February 2016.

Restoration:
47/GT/76F was restored to the highest level in Sweden by Mr. Bo Johansson to full GT specification and is a credit to both his engineering skill and attention to detail. All components are either new or rebuilt and every process of the project has been fully photo documented. During the restoration it was evident that GT/76 had never been subjected to an accident of any consequence. In 2012, after 40 years the car was repatriated to the UK and delivered to Classic Performance Engineering with a view to developing and preparing the car for historic competition. Martin Greeves and the current owner tested the car and entered a successful Guards Trophy race at Oulton Park last year and stands today in 100 percent race ready condition!
