Details: 1967 Camaro SS Custom Build

A complete build that began with a very solid original 67 Camaroand#44; this car features a new LS3 525HP engine and Tremec 6 speed Drivetrain. Transfer of that power to the street is handled by a fully custom and industry leading Detroit Speed front and rear suspension. Wilwood Brakes bring it all to a stop. Custom touches continue throughout the entire car with a tasteful and clean approach. Work was performed by highly regarded and award winning Epic Auto Restorationsand#44; and the accolades continue with the Camaros multiple awards received in the very short time since the cars completion in Fall 2016.

Exterior Condition

The Camaros finish is expertly applied in Sikkens Autowave Metallic Silver. Panel gaps and alignment are impeccable with discreetand#44; but very effective custom touchesand#44; some are easily noticed like the relocation of ten signals to the custom front valance. Others become apparent each time the car is viewed. The restoration utilized the original 67 Camaro SS sheetmetal from the floor pan to the rear body panels and including the doors. Front end sheet metal was replaced with genuine GM OEM fenders and hood. Billet Specialties Mag wheels 18x8 front and 18x10 rear provide a period feel with modern quality and stance. The Cowl Hood and factory style nose stripe continue the understated style that draws one to the Camaros detailed touches. There are virtually no faults in the cars exterior presentationand#44; as its awards reflect.

Engine Bay Condition

Under the hoodand#44; the 525HP LS3 occupies a clean and simplified space that features the LS3 and custom touchesand#44; including a smoothed firewall that integrates Fester hood hinges at the rear. The Billet grille and Fester headlights frame the front of the engine bay and between them is very clean design and well executed craftsmanship. Completing the engine bay is VintageAir IV with Front Runner Accessory Driveand#44; and an American Auto Wire wiring harness. Engine cooling is by DeWitt aluminum radiator with dual Spal electric fans. The LS3 is mated to a Tremec T56 Six Speed manual Transmission and is completed by Hooker ceramic coated headers flowing into a custom Magnaflow 3 tuned exhaust that ends in custom tips underneath the car.

Interior Condition

The detailed theme continues inside the SS with a tastefully modified original style interior. TMI sport seat foam and covers were used on the front bucket seats for a more comfortableand#44; sporty and modern feel with improved supportand#44; while retaining the original style. Custom red with black trimand#44; matching carpetand#44; Camaro Sport steering wheel and shifter all combine to create a clean look with well thought out details. The Camaros original dashboard was retainedand#44; with Dakota Digital VHX gauges including OBD II interface; and since the car came originally equipped with air conditioningand#44; the factory dash outlets are functional for the VintageAir system. Interior overall is excellent plus.

Chassis and Undercarriage Condition

Handling and road characteristics are provided by leading performance and design suspension tuners at Detroit Speed Inc. The rear suspension is Detroit Speeds QuadraLink setupand#44; featuring a 4 link rear design using JRI dual adjustable coil over shocks. The bodywork integrates a mini tub to the rear inner fenders to accommodate the larger wheels and tires. Workmanship is better than factory and undetectable. Front suspension is also from Detroit Speed Incand#44; utilizing their most advanced Speed Kit #3 setup featuring tubular A-armsand#44; quick ratio steering boxand#44; larger sway bar and BMR subframe connectorsand#44; with JRI coil over shocks. Also included in the no shortcut suspension design are the Detroit Speed Inc solid body mountsand#44; brake booster and master cylinder. Finishing the chassis off is the GM 12 bolt Moser 4:10 differential. In
