1960 Porsche 356B T5 Roadster Chassis No. 88644 Engine No. 085600 - In late 1959, significant styling and technical refinements gave rise to the 356B T5 body type, which replaced the outgoing 356 Convertible D. The 356B T5 body was a totally new design, and while it closely resembled its predecessor, both the front and rear sheet metal was redesigned. Other changes included larger and higher bumpers, higher raised headlights and a chrome plated hood handle. On coupes, front vent windows were included as well. The interior received an upgrade with a new steering wheel and column, as well as a modified rear seating area. Mechanically speaking, the car also received an upgraded gearbox and drum brakes.
- Paul Russell and Company is proud to offer the following 1960 Porsche 356B T5 Roadster for sale. This 356B Roadster features an older restoration that still presents very nicely. It received a full bare tub restoration from noted Porsche restorer Evert Ayer at European Auto Service and it was his personal car before being sold to the current owner about 8 years ago. The car features a non-matching, period correct 1600S motor and it was painted a beautiful red, over a full tan Connelly leather interior. It drives straight, is free of squeaks and rattles, and it is one of the quicker 356s we have driven recently. It comes with a matching spare tire, as well as tool roll. It is a very nice example of a Porsche 356B that can be driven and enjoyed, anywhere, at any time.
