Details: This car has had three owners so far. It was originally sold and licensed to Chelsey Charles Maxson of Atalissa, Iowa in late 1929 as a 1930 standard coupe. Though it was sold and licensed as a 1930 model, it still had a 1929 engine serial number, and Ford used 21-inch wheels and 1929-style oval-shaped speedometers briefly, until early 1930, when all Model Aandrsquo;s left the assembly line with the newer-style 19-inch wheels, and round odometers. Chelsey Maxson, born November 30th, 1896, owned the car for its first 52 years, until he died in November, 1981 at age 86.

The second owners were Peter and Carmen Pohl, a German couple who lived in nearby West Liberty, Iowa. They bought soon after Mr. Maxsonandrsquo;s death and licensed it in January 1982. They drove it in many shows and parades in the area, and restored it over a period of several years with the local Ford dealer and tractor fan Lyle Zimmerman. I believe that after its mechanical restoration they also painted and reupholstered it. Finally, Peter and Carmen returned to Germany in andlsquo;09 or andrsquo;10 because Carmenandrsquo;s health had seriously deteriorated.

Peter sold the car to me on June 30, 2010 after owning it for about 28 years. Peter had a big accumulation of parts, accessories and stuff (which are included with the car). I never got to meet him, but suppose he wanted the car to have its proper 19-inch wheels, because it came to me with a full set. I personally like the 21-inchers; the slightly bigger wheels give the car a cocky look, and in this case, it is as originally shipped from the factory in late andrsquo;29, But if you like the 19-inch better, itandrsquo;s a snap to switch.

This car is very presentable overall, starts easy, drives well. Is great for rumble riding (kids LOVE that) and short jaunts, but wonandrsquo;t win any car shows! Itandrsquo;s awaiting itandrsquo;s fourth owner, so let me know if you have any questions.
